When Maybel, the country hound, wanders into Cindy’s kitchen, she may just have been looking for food, but instead finds a lifelong friend. The duo finds adventures in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Alongside fellow goats and horses, they munch on crusts of avocado toast by the beach in Santa Monica. It is a story of rescue, friendship, love and learning to stay wild at heart.

First of all, would like to share how much I love the illustrations for this book. The colour and the drawing itself is very kid friendly but also something an adult like me would enjoy looking at. It is a wonderful story about Cindy and Maybel. I feel so much love from this book. The storyline is very heartwarming and endearing, especially for those who own pets, not just dogs, like me. For me, the story gives a good vibe for children or anyone to share their home or life with someone like Maybel. I kind of want to see if there are other books about Mabel’s adventure with Cindy. It is a very enjoyable read. I would love to share this book to my friends and family.
